Director - Advisory & Transactions Lead Steve Stanto left Yamagigu Consulting and joined Indigenous Business Australia as the Chief Investment Officer, effective October 2026.

Previously, Stanton was director – advisory and transactions lead at Yamagigu Consulting (July 2024-September 2026). Prior to that, he was a director at PwC (June 2023 to August 2024). Before that, Stanton was an executive director of investments (July 2022-June 2023) and an executive director of business development (July 2021-July 2022) at First Australians Capital.

Prior to that, he was a managing director of ACKO Group (January 2020-June 2023). Before that, Stanton was the head of strategy and market development at McMillan Shakespeare (October 2019-May 2021), contributing to strategic and market development initiatives.

Prior to that, he was a council member of the mental health commission of New South Wales, advising on matters relating to mental health and community wellbeing (February 2019- February 2021).

Before that, Stanton was an executive general manager at LiveBetter Community Services (January 2017-July 2019). Prior to that, he was the chief operating officer (April 2015-December 2016) and an interim chief executive officer (June 2016-November 2016) at Housing Plus. Earlier, Stanton was a board director at Indigenous Allied Health Australia (November 2014- April 2016) and an area manager at Mission Australia (April 2011-April 2015).

He holds a Bachelor's in International Business from Griffith University, a Bachelor of Health Science in Mental and Social Health Services and Allied Professions from Charles Sturt University and a Global EMBA from the University of Sydney (‘20).
